Within Tsavo East's vast expanse, a handful of specific points reliably concentrate wildlife regardless of season, and Aruba Dam and Lugard Falls are the two most consistently productive. Aruba Dam, a reservoir on the Voi River, draws large numbers of elephant, buffalo and a wide range of birdlife to its shores, particularly during drier months when surrounding water sources dry up.
Lugard Falls, on the Galana River, isn't a dramatic waterfall in the conventional sense but rather a series of rapids and rock formations carved by the river over time, creating photogenic river scenery and a reliable spot for crocodile and hippo sightings along the banks.

- Dry season visits (roughly June–October) tend to produce the highest wildlife concentrations at both locations.
